ARU · PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Effective September 4, 2026

Aru is designed around user-owned data and explicit choices. This policy explains what the app handles, where information goes and what controls you have.

1. Information Aru handles

Aru may handle conversations, collaborator settings, plans, schedules, memories, documents, attachments and app preferences that you create or import. Most app records are stored locally on your device in the app’s private storage.

2. AI providers and external services

When you ask an AI collaborator to respond or use an online feature, Aru sends the information needed for that request to the model provider, self-hosted service or connector you selected. Those services process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Aru does not send every local record by default.

3. HealthKit and system permissions

After you grant permission, Aru can read the HealthKit health and fitness categories you select so collaborators can use relevant summaries for everyday planning and conversation. A HealthKit write or delete action is performed only after you confirm that specific action. Aru may also request access to features such as Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, Photos, Location, Speech Recognition or Notifications when you choose a related capability. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings at any time.

Aru is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis or treatment. Do not use it as a substitute for professional medical advice or emergency services.

4. Support and feedback

If you send feedback, our feedback service stores the text and any files you choose to attach, along with limited technical information such as browser type and a salted, shortened hash of the network address for abuse prevention. It does not store the plain network address. Please do not submit passwords or API keys.

5. Sharing and sale

We do not sell your personal data. Information is shared only with services you direct Aru to use, infrastructure needed to provide a feature or when required by law.

6. Your controls

You can manage system permissions in iOS Settings and remove app content using the controls provided in Aru. Removing the app through iOS removes its local app container. To request access to or deletion of a support submission, contact us through the support form and include the submission reference number when available.

7. Security and retention

Aru uses platform protections and scoped access controls appropriate to each feature. We retain support submissions only as long as needed to investigate, respond and maintain service quality, subject to legal or security needs.

8. Children

Aru is not directed to children under the minimum age required to use AI services in their region. Model providers may apply additional age requirements.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Aru changes. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.

10. Contact
